Frequently
Asked Questions Q.Why
does the program flicker sometimes?
It flickers because Inquisitor creates all of its components at Run-time (whilst the program is running). This limits the amount of memory space that the program needs to use whilst running, and therefore gives users with small amount of memory the ability to launch GPL whilst Inquisitor is still resident in memory.
Q.Inquisitor doesn't seem to remember any changes that I make to tracks. Why is this?
You need to save any changes BEFORE you change to another track, otherwise all changes will be lost. This is because I have only allocated enough memory to hold the contents off one track at a time, so any changes will be overwritten by the newly selected track. Simply click on the 'save changes' button, or make sure that the checkbox is ticked.
Q.Why are some of the items disabled?
Inquisitor will only display the values that it finds in your configuration files. Therefore, a dimmed box indicates that this variable is not present in your configuration file. One way around this is to use inquisitor to create another confiuration file, which will contain all the variables that are currently supported.
Q.Why do all the form fields appear dimmed(disabled)?
You need to locate your GPL directory so that Inquisitor can find the configuration files. This is done by selecting your GPL.EXE file when the file dialog box appears at startup (this only appears when Inquisitor is started for the very first time). If this doesn't work for some reason then drag the Options.dat file into a text editor and remove any text that appears in this file. Close and then restart Inquisitor.
Q.Inquisitor Freezes when I click on a particular tab. Why?
The chances are the GPL file Inquisitor is reading is damaged, or has been badly modified in some way. Go to the pull-down menu and create another copy of the file that is causing the problem. The name of the file causing the problem will be the one named on the currently selected tab. Once this is done you will need to reload the file or close and restart Inquisitor. NOTE: Track.ini files cannot be created by Inquisitor.
Q.I have a variable that is not supported by Inquisitor. What should I do ?
Highlight the variable in question and then email me the ini file that contains it. I will then include it in the next update that is released.
Q.Do you intend to include the Player.ini files in later versions?
No. The Player.ini files can easily be configured within GPL, so there wouldn't be much to gain from incorporating it into Inquisitor.
